Simple Instructions to Recover recent transactions using the original .TLG file with .QBW.adr file

Before proceeding further, you must remember that you need to utilize the original Transaction Log file and ADR version of the log file to recover all recent transactions successfully.

1. At first, you need to generate a new folder on your Windows Desktop named QBTest.

2. Now, launch the folder where your company file is saved.

Note: You can check the location of your company file on the Product Information window by pressing the F2 or Ctrl+1 key on your keyboard or on the No Company Open Window.

3. Navigate to the .tlg file in your company’s folder, and you will observe that it has a similar name as your company’s file.

4. In case you are unable to search the .tlg file, then you can perform the below-given steps to make the extensions visible.

5. At first, launch File Explorer, by pressing Windows and E keys together on your keyboard.

6. Next, click Organize option, choose a folder and then search options.

7. Users using the Windows 10, 8.1 & 8 versions on their system click View and after that choose File name extensions.

8. Choose the “Hide Extensions for known file types” option.

9. Now, select Apply and then click the OK option.

10. Thereafter, you need to copy the corresponding .tlg file of your company file and then paste it to the QBTest folder on your system.

11. Soon after this, open the QuickBooksAutoData Recovery folder on your PC.

12. You will get the QB’s auto data recovery folder in the same location where your company file is located.

13. The next step is to copy .QBW.adr file and then paste it to the QBTest folder.

14. After this, ensure that you must have .QBW.adr and .tlg file on your QBTest folder.

15. Afterwards, in the QBTest folder, you need to right-click the .QBW.adr file and, after that, choose the Rename option.

16. Thereafter, remove .adr at the end of the file.

17. Next, you need to launch the QuickBooks Desktop on your PC.

18. Subsequently, open the company file that you have saved previously on your QBTest folder.

19. You need to use your account register to verify all transactions are there.

20. If the copy of this company file is good, you can easily move your damaged company file to another location as per your choice. Then you can transmit the copy from QBTest to the original location.
